- Check health recommendations, such as vaccinations against hepatitis A and B or typhoid fever.

- Keep an overview of the security situation in the region you are planning to visit.
Such measures can make it much easier to deal with any complications and make your stay more pleasant.
Special scheme for Phu Quoc island
The Island Phu Quoc has its own regime - tourists can enter here without a visa for 30 days. Arrival by direct flight or transit via Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City airports is a prerequisite. However, if you plan to travel from Phu Quoc to the interior of Vietnam, you will need a valid visa or e-visa. This is convenient for holidaymakers who want to spend the whole time on the island, but beware of the conditions for onward transfers. Travelling to Vietnam without a visa is only covered under this scheme when staying exclusively on the island. What if you want to stay longer?
For stays of more than 45 days, a visa is required. The easiest options are electronic visa (e-visa)which can be obtained through the official portal of the Vietnamese Government. E-visas are issued to 90 days and may be valid for one or more entries. The processing usually takes at least three working days, but can take longer for large numbers of applications. We therefore recommend that you apply well in advance and check whether your entry point is one of the crossing points where e-visas are accepted. If you are planning to combine visa-free travel to Vietnam with a subsequent longer stay, prepare your visa documents before departure.Key information at a glance
