employed, doing business, studying or have sufficient financial means to stay in Slovakia.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"397\" data-end=\"490\"><strong data-start=\"399\" data-end=\"432\">Family members of an EU national<\/strong>if they accompany or join him\/her on the stay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"635\"><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-size: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-size ); font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\"><br>EU nationals have the right to stay in Slovakia without registering for up to 90 days, but longer stays are subject to registration requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: 1.25rem;\">Conditions for registering as a citizen of the European Union<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"706\" data-end=\"794\">To apply for residence registration, an EU national must meet the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"796\" data-end=\"1394\">\n<li data-start=\"796\" data-end=\"900\"><strong data-start=\"798\" data-end=\"823\">Prove the purpose of your stay<\/strong> - employment, business, study or sufficient financial security.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"1079\"><strong data-start=\"903\" data-end=\"938\">Demonstrate financial security<\/strong> - an EU citizen must have sufficient resources for residence and health insurance to avoid becoming a burden on the Slovak social security system.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1080\" data-end=\"1180\"><strong data-start=\"1082\" data-end=\"1107\">Prove your integrity<\/strong> - in some cases, a criminal record may be required.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1181\" data-end=\"1300\"><strong data-start=\"1183\" data-end=\"1215\">Provide proof of accommodation<\/strong> - for example, a lease agreement, title deed or consent of the property owner.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1394\"><strong data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1336\">Proof of health insurance<\/strong> - a health insurance certificate valid in the territory of the Slovak Republic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1396\" data-end=\"1522\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Once these conditions are met, EU citizens can obtain a residence registration certificate, which allows them to stay in Slovakia for a
