The renewal of residence is possible if the foreigner continues to meet the conditions for which the residence was originally granted.<\/p><p data-start=\"366\" data-end=\"421\">They can apply to renew their stay by:<\/p><ul data-start=\"422\" data-end=\"633\"><li data-start=\"422\" data-end=\"468\">people working or doing business in the SR,<\/li><li data-start=\"469\" data-end=\"518\">university students and researchers,<\/li><li data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"573\">family members of foreigners with a residence permit,<\/li><li data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"633\">people with other legal grounds for staying in the country.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"953\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><b>When applying, it must be shown that the grounds for residence continue to exist and that the alien has fulfilled all legal obligations<\/b>such as financial security, health insurance and a smooth stay in the Slovak Republic. The Aliens Police will then assess the validity of the application and decide whether to approve it.<\/p><h2><span style=\"color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: 1.25rem;\">Conditions for renewal<\/span><\/h2><p data-start=\"50\" data-end=\"249\">A foreigner who wishes to apply for renewal of residence in the Slovak Republic must continue to meet the legal conditions for residence and submit the relevant documents. The basic requirements include:<\/p><ul data-start=\"251\" data-end=\"1189\"><li data-start=\"251\" data-end=\"426\"><strong data-start=\"253\" data-end=\"281\">Proving the purpose of your stay<\/strong> - the applicant must prove that he or she continues to meet the reasons for which the temporary stay was granted (e.g. employment, studies, family ties).<\/li><li data-start=\"427\" data-end=\"613\"><strong data-start=\"429\" data-end=\"454\">Financial security<\/strong> - the foreigner must prove sufficient financial means to stay in the Slovak Republic, the amount required depends on the purpose of the stay and the current minimum subsistence level.<\/li><li data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"786\"><strong data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"631\">Integrity<\/strong> - a recent criminal record extract from the applicant's home country and all countries in which the applicant has lived for a long time, duly legalised.<\/li><li data-start=\"787\" data-end=\"945\"><strong data-start=\"789\" data-end=\"811\">Proof of accommodation<\/strong> - Housing must be provided and a lease, title deed or consent of the property owner must be provided.<\/li><li data-start=\"946\" data-end=\"1044\"><strong data-start=\"948\" data-end=\"971\">Health insurance<\/strong> - the applicant must have valid health insurance in the Slovak Republic.<\/li><li data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1189\"><strong data-start=\"1047\" data-end=\"1075\">Compliance with legislation<\/strong> - the foreigner must prove that during his\/her stay he\/she has fulfilled all legal obligations and has not violated the conditions of stay.<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1191\" data-end=\"1381\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">When renewing the stay, the Aliens Police assesses whether the foreigner actually fulfils the purpose of the stay and whether he\/she has sufficient financial, material and legal security for further stay in the Slovak
