It is needed, for example, for:<\/p><ul><li>Applying for renewal or change of residence electronically<\/li><li>Registering as an EU national<\/li><li>Lodging an appeal or supplementing an application in an administrative procedure<\/li><li>Electronic communication with the authorities without the need for a personal visit<\/li><\/ul><h3>Electronic signature and certificates (KEP)<\/h3><p>Some e-services require <strong>Qualified Electronic Signature (QES)<\/strong>. To create it, the holder of an activated residence permit needs:<\/p><ol><li><strong>Internet access<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>eID application<\/strong> installed on your computer<\/li><li>Published by <strong>certificates for electronic signature<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>These certificates can be redeemed by the holder of the activated BOK code <strong>online<\/strong> - the whole process is described in detail in the official manual of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic: <a href=\"https:\/\/eidas.minv.sk\/download\/files\/windows\/Prirucka_Certifikaty.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guide to issuing certificates (PDF)<\/a>.<\/p><h3>Recommendation for foreigners<\/h3><p>The Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic recommends that foreigners with an activated BOK code make full use of the available electronic services of the state. In this way they can:<\/p><ul><li>Save time and avoid waiting at the offices<\/li><li>Reduce the cost of travelling to the location of the competent authority<\/li><li>Get faster feedback from the authorities<\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><p>\u00a0If you are not sure where your nearest BOK code activation office is, or need help setting up electronic services, contact the migration and residence services experts.
