With 320 days of sunshine a year, the world's longest beaches and crystal clear water, Turkey has one of the most beautiful coastlines. It's also a country known for its mix of magnificent sights and beautiful countryside.
It is the birthplace of the poet Homer, the ancient city of Ephesus, which is an important archaeological site. On this site is the Temple of Artemis, which was one of the original seven wonders of the world.
The travertine cascades of Pamukkale are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the country's top sites. Above these cascades are also the remains of the ancient spa town of Hierapolis.
The town of Cappadocia is famous for its dozens of balloons, whose uniqueness has earned them a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In Turkey, you can try a real hammam ritual - a traditional Turkish bath.
When travelling to Turkey, Slovak citizens, including children, must have a valid passport. The Turkish authorities will not allow entry into the country on the basis of any other document, e.g. an identity card.
The passport must be valid for 150 days longer than the date of entry into Turkey. There must also be enough space in the passport - at least 2 blank blank pages. For travel to Turkey that does not exceed 90 days stay within 180 days visa is not valid. There is a visa-free travel agreement between the Slovak Republic and Turkey.
For other purposes such as long-term stay, employment, study, research, education, cultural and sporting activities, business and work trips, it is still necessary to secure a visa before entering the Republic of Turkey at the Turkish Embassy in Bratislava.
It is recommended to arrange this visa at least 48 hours before travel.
Visa fees:
For travelers, the least restrictive visas are those that can be obtained directly upon entering the country - that is, at the border crossing or after landing at the airport. Such visas usually have no conditions.
Sometimes their issuance is subject to the payment of an administrative fee. These visas can be considered more like "entrance fees" or an additional source of income for local governments.
In the case of visas, which need to be arranged in advance at the relevant embassy, this is an incomparably more difficult matter. An applicant for a visa must visit the diplomatic mission of the relevant state in person or through an authorized representative, where he/she will apply for a visa. Since not all countries have their embassies in every country in the world, applicants often have to travel to neighboring countries for the sake of visas, or countries where a given country has a competent authority authorized to issue visas. Various conditions are often associated with obtaining a visa before entering the country.
Tourist visas usually require the presentation of a purchased travel ticket or accommodation reservation, or proof of sufficient financial security for the stay. A frequent requirement of a visa application is the so-called "invitation letter" (also "voucher"), which is a kind of justification for the trip and is issued by a local hotel, or a local tourist agency or host family. Tourist visas are issued for a limited period of time, usually up to 30 days. Tourist visas can entitle the holder to one or more entries/exits. Accordingly, we distinguish:
