In the context of the current deteriorating security situation in the Middle East caused by the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian military conflict and its potential impact on the wider region we do not recommend making any trips to Iran.

We continue to draw your attention to the possibility of demonstrations across the country in connection with the poor socio-economic situation, whether possible risk of arrest of EU nationals by the Iranian security forces.
In the country there are marches in support of Palestine and other demonstrations, and rallies of the people. Citizens of the Slovak Republic we recommend avoiding such places.
Citizens of the Slovak Republic who are in Iran are strongly warned, not to photograph military installations, or any other critical infrastructure. For photographing strategically important objects foreigners in Iran face espionage charges.
In general, it is necessary observe basic rules of personal safety, avoid conflict situations and respect local customs and cultural and religious traditions.
The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic recommends to the citizens of the Slovak Republic take into account the deteriorating security situation and the fragile internal political and economic situation in the country and respect the advice not to travel to Iran.
