Dear clients, we recommend avoiding travel to the country of Israel, the current death toll from rocket attacks ranges from 700 people, more are missing and the situation is escalating by the day. Terrorist attacks and kidnappings by Hamas are ongoing, regardless of ethnic, religious or national composition.  Report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic: Level of recommendation: level 2 - consider the necessity of travel (consider the necessity of travel to certain areas) The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic draws the attention of Slovak citizens to the deteriorating security situation in Israel as a result of the escalating conflict between Gaza militants and Israel. In this context, Slovak citizens are advised to consider travelling to Israel until further notice. Slovak citizens in Israel are urged to pay maximum attention to developments in the situation, to monitor the local media, to carefully consider the necessity to move within Israel and, above all, to respect the instructions of the security forces and the Israeli army. Under no circumstances are we advised to travel or move in the vicinity of the Gaza Strip (however, a security emergency is in place throughout Israel). Please note the continued possibility of rocket fire from the Gaza Strip into southern and central Israel by militant groups. It is possible that the unrest may spread to other parts of Israel in the coming days. In some parts of the West Bank there may be occasional localised disturbances or clashes between radical groups and security forces. It is also essential to take extra care when travelling in the border areas in the north of the country, the Israeli-Lebanese border area and the Golan Heights. In case of emergency, Slovak citizens can contact the emergency mobile phone number of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Israel: +972 544556642. We also recommend Slovak citizens to use the voluntary registration service on the website of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic or via the Svetobežka mobile application when travelling abroad. In the morning hours (7 October 2023), there was a massive rocket attack on southern and central Israel from the Gaza Strip and the infiltration of militants into Israeli territory. In response, Israel launched retaliatory attacks on Hamas positions in Gaza. All missile shelters in Tel Aviv are open. Citizens of the Slovak Republic are advised to exercise maximum vigilance. Security incidents, including rocket fire, often happen without warning. In the event of rocket fire, a siren is activated. In this case, it is essential to seek shelter immediately and follow the instructions of local authorities. Free commercial apps such as Red Alert or Home Front Command are also available. Please also note that in this context, flights to/from Israel may be delayed or the airport may temporarily suspend flights if the situation deteriorates. The Embassy of the Slovak Republic is monitoring developments in the security situation and will provide further information as necessary (Source: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic). Opinion of the Presidium of the Police Force of the Slovak Republic: The police are closely monitoring the situation in Israel and are ready to take adequate measures if necessary. The individual regional police directorates are mapping the objects within each region and are also analysing and evaluating the situation along their own lines and adopting the necessary solutions. We are also in close contact with foreign partners to gather further information. We do not underestimate the situation, but for tactical reasons we will not specify the individual actions of the police. We assure the public that the current situation in Slovakia is calm and there is no cause for concern. (Source: Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic)
